SciQuest Poised for Rapid Global Growth with Hire of Marketing and Strategy Vice President
Back to News ReleasesStevens comes to SciQuest from Datastream Systems, now Infor, where he was the senior vice president of global operations. In this role, he managed a team of more than 250 professionals across the company’s international operations as well as North American customer service and support, sales support, and marketing organizations.
Stevens played a key role in helping Datastream emerge as a recognized leader in the enterprise asset management market. During his tenure, he orchestrated the turnaround of the company’s troubled Asia Pacific and Latin American operations, improving the financial performance of these regions from break-even to 20 percent profitability, which included 11 straight quarters of overall company profitability. It is this exceptional ability to improve business operations as well as to develop and implement strategic marketing plans that will keep SciQuest on its trajectory of rapid global growth.
“Brad has proven ability to optimize business operations and to develop and execute high-impact strategic marketing plans,” said SciQuest President and Chief Executive Officer Stephen Wiehe. “Brad’s experience will be invaluable as we expand our customer base within the global life science and higher education markets.”
SciQuest was recently recognized by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development as the 2007 Growth Company of the Year and announced earlier this year that 2006 was the company’s first cash flow positive year. The company remains on target to continue exceeding revenue and customer signings in 2007.
“With the distinction of being the only profitable e-procurement provider, as well as a company with a growing customer base and an enviable track record for customer satisfaction, SciQuest is a pure-play Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider with a great story to tell,” Stevens said. “I look forward to helping the company achieve even greater success as SciQuest enters its next phase of rapid growth. I intend to work with the executive team to implement the strategies and programs required to help SciQuest achieve world-class performance across all functional areas of the company.”
Prior to Datastream, Stevens was the senior vice president and general manager of NxView Technologies’ products division responsible for commercializing 3D technology. He previously held several management positions at IBM, culminating as the director of strategy and market planning for ibm.com. Stevens began his career at the Mead Corporation where he worked for the Mead Imaging and Lexis-Nexis divisions. He holds a B.S. in economics and an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
