SciQuest, Inc Wins Business Leader Magazine's Business Champions Award
Back to News ReleasesThe Business Champions Awards pay tribute to local organizations for their contributions to the Triangle area workforce through extensive training programs, job creation and revenue growth. The award was created to honor those businesses that best exemplify these attributes, making the community a stronger, more vibrant place to work and live – all attributes of SciQuest’s strategic vision and core values.
“This award is a testament to the many accomplishments and dedicated service of the entire SciQuest team as well as to our commitment of fostering a dynamic working environment,” said Steve Wiehe, SciQuest president and CEO. “Each of these factors helps make our company one of the fastest growing and best technology companies to work for in the Triangle.”
The Business Champions Award comes at a momentous time for SciQuest, as the company experienced its first cash-flow positive year in 2006. In addition, SciQuest hit several other major milestones in the company’s history, including the signing of approximately $30 million in new business, global expansion into the European marketplace, and the development of numerous customer and partner relationships. SciQuest has already earned several key accolades this year, such as the Triangle Business Journal’s Fast 50 program, which acknowledges private companies with the greatest revenue growth over a three-year period.
SciQuest’s continued success can be attributed, in part, to its dedicated team of employees. The company fosters a collaborative working environment where input from all levels is welcome, great ideas can thrive, and debate and open discussions are the norm. SciQuest will continue growing its core team throughout 2007 as the company further expands in the European Union, penetrates more deeply into existing markets, and continues investing in its software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution delivery approach.
The Business Champions Awards honored 26 local businesses in four
categories, including: healthcare, business/technology, computer/engineering
and applied technologies/trade industries. Winners were recognized
at an awards luncheon on March 27 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in
Cary and will be profiled in the Business Leader special Business
Champions issue in May.
